Key Largo, C series, flybridge: three markets
A Key Largo appeals to someone looking for an open day boat, on the coast or on a lake, and the smallest ones travel on a trailer. A C series model is built for coastal cruising with real life on board, a flybridge for family cruising over several days. The buyers, the marinas and the selling seasons are all different.
Every range has been renewed over time. Two boats of the same length from different generations have neither the same deck layout nor the same value: state the exact designation and the build year. Where the model was offered with different engine options, say which one your boat has.
What weighs on the value of a Sessa
- the engines: drive type for the model, power and hours on each engine;
- the large sunpads and exterior upholstery, which take a lot of sun on open and hard-top boats;
- the opening roof or hard top: mechanism, seals, no sign of leaks;
- the teak in the cockpit and on the bathing platform;
- comfort equipment: generator, air conditioning, bow thruster, passerelle;
- service invoices for recent seasons.
Finish and options: what shows in the price
On an Italian boat of this style, buyers look closely at the choices made when it was ordered: hull colour, upholstery, interior wood, electronics. A coloured hull shows scratches and fading more than a white one. Immaculate condition shows in the photos, and so does any flaw.
Options added after purchase count if they are documented: invoice, fitting date, installer. Without an invoice, they reassure buyers less and carry little weight in the negotiation.
Before you list the boat
Gather the papers: registration, bill of sale, VAT evidence and CE declaration of conformity. Have the engines and drives serviced before the boating season: a boat that is ready to go out can be viewed and sea-trialled without delay.
Then request a valuation to see where your boat stands against comparable boats for sale today, and set a consistent asking price. Indicative valuation. It does not replace a survey.
