A numbered range and its generations
Ferretti Yachts models carry a number linked to their length without matching it exactly: 500, 580, 670, 720, 780 or 1000, for example. Several have gone through successive generations, marked Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3. The more recent INFYNITO line completes the range.
Older models carry other names, such as the Ferretti 880, or belong to the Altura line. For a valuation, the key is to place your boat in the right generation: a 720 Mk1 and a 720 Mk3 are not directly comparable.
What gives a used Ferretti its value
- the exact generation and model year;
- the hours on the engines and on the generators, which work hard on a cruising yacht;
- stabilisation, gyro or fins, and its servicing;
- flybridge equipment: hardtop, bimini, outdoor galley, crane or tender chocks;
- the hydraulic platform and the tender supplied with the boat;
- a crew cabin and the number of guest cabins;
- navigation electronics and when they were last renewed;
- the condition of interior joinery, fabrics and flooring.
How the boat was used, and what is due
A Ferretti used by a family for a few weeks a year has not led the same life as a boat chartered all season. Say so plainly: the hours, interior wear and maintenance records will show it anyway, and the buyer will ask. A well-maintained charter boat with its invoices is still a boat that sells.
Major maintenance milestones matter as well: a significant engine service, battery replacement, paintwork or antifouling. State those carried out recently, with their invoices, and those coming up. The buyer will factor them into their sums in any case.
The larger Ferrettis
The largest models in the range, such as the 1000, exceed 24 m. They are valued like the others, with a figure, by comparison with similar yachts for sale.
For the others, the result is one rounded price and the number of boats compared. Indicative valuation. It does not replace a survey.
