Privacy charter

To check a boat's papers, YachtVerify receives sensitive documents: title, bill of sale, ID, certificates. Here is, in plain terms, what happens to them.
  1. 01

They are used only for the check

The documents are used to verify the points of the YachtVerify grid, and for nothing else.

  2. 02

    They are never published

The boat's public record only shows facts: make, model, year, flag, mentions and their date. Never the name of the owner or the requester, never the documents, never the price.

  3. 03

    They are never sold

Neither the documents nor the file data are sold or rented.

  4. 04

    No marketing without your consent

Your email address is used to follow up your file: acknowledgement, request for a document, result of the check, reminder before the badge expires. It is not used for marketing without your consent.

  5. 05

    Identified technical providers

The documents are stored in a private space and processed using the technical providers listed in the privacy policy (website hosting, database and storage, payment, sending emails).

How long they are kept

  • Identity documents (the seller's ID, company extract): deleted 30 days after the check is closed, and requested again for each new check.
  • Boat documents and file data: kept for 5 years after the last check for which they were used.
  • Facts published on the boat's record: kept for as long as the service exists, in order to preserve the boat's history.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its rectification or its erasure, within the limits set by law, by writing to contact@yachtverify.com.
